Hide Files or Folders:
Hiding important and personnel files and folders is a simple way of protecting them from loss of data or misuse. It's actually quite difficult to securely hide a folder in Windows without risking problems in the operating system itself. There are a number of commercial third party softwares for hiding files and folders but they end up being uninstalled.

Method 2: using Microsoft Windows attributes
Instead of using complicated and expensive security utilities, try the simpler method of using the Windows "hidden" attribute which is a property of every file and folder that can be turned on or off.
Note: Hiding your folder like this is fine if you only want to keep information from prying eyes but if you really want to properly protect it you should encrypt it.
To hide a folder follow the following Steps:
1) Right Click on the file or folder to be hidden and open its properties
2) In the properties of the object check the Hidden attribute
3) Click on "Apply" and close the properties window
The folder has hidden itself.
Hiding folder is not a great idea as it will be immediately revealed should another user enable the display of hidden files. So try making an invisible folder.
To view the hidden folders follow the steps:
In versions before Microsoft Windows 8:
1) Open a windows explorer
2) From the tool tab in the menu bar, open Folder Options...
3) In this box click on view tab.
4) Click on the radio button "Show hidden files, folders and drive"
5) Apply and close the box.
In Microsoft Windows 8:
1) Click on view tab
2) Check the "hidden item" checkbox in the view ribbon
Doing so all the hidden folders and files will show up with transparent icon.
