Many smart phone or smart device users very often require an active internet connection. The mobile cellular service providers on the other hand  packages costly high volume and bandwidth plans. Comparatively, broadband and 3G connections are cheaper.
The best solution to avoid such an expense to

your pockets is to use and share PC internet connection with your Android phone or device (tablets) with USB using the technique known as reverse tethering.


Advantages of the technique:

1) A better internet speed (since mobile cellular internet speed ofter depends on the signal strength)

2) Cheaper plans does not burden your pocket.
 
3) You do not need an additional internet service for your android powered device.
 

 

Procedure:

There are many applications like connectify which lets you to share your PC's internet connection through WiFi. But on a PC, that is not having WiFi adapters you have to use a USB cable and follow reverse tethering. This trick is very useful if you don’t have WiFi and still wants to Share PC Internet Connection and saving money on cellular network.
 
Tethering is a process to share internet connection of your Android phone with your PC. Tethering can be done in two ways.
1) Via USB
2) Via WiFi
 
Reverse tethering is a process that allows your android phone to connect to the internet of PC using USB. The process is reverse of USB tethering, that’s why it is known as Reverse Tethering.

Requirements:

1) Download the latest Reverse Tethering Package from here.

2) Rooted Android Phone with Superuser installed.

3) A desktop or laptop with working internet connection.

4) USB drivers of your Android Phone.

5) Use the USB cord (data cable) to connect the android device with PC.


Steps For Reverse Tethering:

1) Check "USB debugging" in your Android Phone.
To do so head to : Settings->Application->Development->USB Debugging.

2) Connect your device to your PC with USB.

4) Run AndroidTool.exe and click on Refresh Button that will be given in front of Select a device.

5) The device connected to the PC will be shown in the dialog box where you have to select your connected device. Choose your Android device from there.

6) After you select your device in the spinner, click on connect. This will install the required files needed for reverse tethering in your android phone.

7) Now superuser will ask you for your permissions to use the application - USB tunnel. Just "allow" this.

8) If this prompt will not come by itself just open the USB Tunnel application installed on your phone. It will now ask for superuser permissions.

Now if all goes right you will be able to Share PC Internet Connection and access on your android phone.
