Apple Siri rival - Cortana for Windows Phone 8.1
The softaware giant has been bidding Cortana as the first "true" personal digital assistant, similar to Siri and GoogleSpeak, but emphasizes on developing a relationship with the user.
The name 'Cortana' derives from a fictional artificially intelligent (AI) character that appeared in the complete Halo gaming series which provided backstory and tactical information to the player during the gameplay.
Cortana, the codename for the newly announced AI from Microsoft and the long-rumored answer to Siri is a replacement of the company's outdated voice technology - TellMe, which was purchased by Microsoft in 2009.

The experience with Cortana is both futuristic and minimalist. The Cortana can be instantiated via the Search key. Just like Siri, Cortana will also allow Windows Phone users to set how they want to be addressed by the voice-activated assistant by enabling the function from the settings.Features:
All searchings on Windows Phone 8.1, including in Internet Explorer, is handled by Cortana, which is powered by Bing. Apart from this it us also highly capable to take notes, set reminders, tell you the weather, the time, send messages and answer other questions with just a few words and a click.
Cortana will be powered by the data from Bing, Foursquare, and others to give it some of the contextual power of Google Now. The voice-activated assistant will also learn more about users and offer to store this personal data in its Notebook. Cortana has a unique feature - The Cortana's Notebook, which contains all the personalized and classified information that she creates about the user. This Notebook sections includes:

In the future:
With the help of a new API introduced by Microsoft at their 2014 Build conference, Cortana will be able to integrate with third-party apps.
The technology is expected to be added to Windows 8.x and the Xbox One in the future
Microsoft said the beta version Cortana will roll out to U.S. users in the coming weeks and will expand to the U.K. and China in the second half of 2014.
