ROOTing android device- pros and cons

Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged  control or “Superuser” rights (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem.
As Android derives from the Linux kernel, rooting an Android device is similar to accessing administrative permissions on Linux or any other Unix-like operating system.

Reasons for rooting an Android device:

Rooting is usually performed with an objective to overcome limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user. Rooting lets all user-installed applications run privileged commands typically unavailable to the devices in the stock configuration.
Rooting is required for more advanced and potentially dangerous operations including modifying or deleting system files, removing carrier- or manufacturer-installed applications, and low-level access to the hardware itself (rebooting, controlling status lights etc.)

Benefits of Rooting:

• Access, modify, delete hidden system file areas.
• upgrade to unofficial android version made for your phone by some developers.
• use screenshot apps to take screenshot of your android device display.cybobytes.blogspot.com
• add many tweaks to your device for better performance which demand root permissions.
• Run high end games
• flash custom recovery easily that helps you to flash custom Rom.
• flash custom android themes on your device.
• Change boot animations
• use kernel performance tweaks.
• uninstall the unwanted system applications.
• install custom Rom on your device
• take nandroid backup of your device.cybobytes.blogspot.com
• take backup of all of your applications with data and also settings.
• increase the inbuilt memory of your android device.
• increase ram of your android device (click here to read further)
• enable WiFi and USB tethering
• Use PC’s internet connection in your android device(click here to read further)
• Use Android device’s internet connection in your PC

and many others...

Cons of Rooting:
• It may brick your android phone.
• ROM may become unstable and crashing problem will occur.cybobytes.blogspot.com
• Cannot update to official update automatically whenever it will release.
• Various apps can gain access to system files
• May void your warranty.

NOTICE:
Rooting can brick your device and it may void your warranty, so do it at your own risk. Modifiing the system files with full administrative rights  can also be risky. So its better to first ask someone who are much involved in this process before making some changes in file system of your android phone.
