Boot PC faster
Often after a long period use of PC computers take a lot of time to start. Computers are like old racehorses - they slow down with age The main reason behind this is the third party softwares which we install. Some softwares by default have the permission to start up during the windows start up. The option can bechanged from the respective settings of the softwares. But changing the software settings one by one will be a quite hectic and a tedious task.
Here is a solution to reduce the boot time of the PC.
Step 1- prefer in windows version before Windows 8
1. Open run (windows + R).
2. Type “msconfig” and press enter.
3. In the resultant window go to the “Startup” tab.
4. A list of start up programs are listed.
5. Uncheck all unnecessary or unwanted programs (avoid system programs and antivirus)
6. Click on apply and restart the computer.

Step 1- only in windows 8:
1. Open the task manager in windows 8
2. Click on Start Up tab
3. Disable the programs that are not required during the start up (by using the right click on the program)
4. Close the task manager and restart the PC

Step 2:
1. Right click on “My computer” and select “Manage”
2. Click on “Device Manager”.
3. From the list of hardware disable the USB/COM ports that is not used
4. Restart your Computer.

Step 3:

4. You will see a box labeled "Timeout." It is typically set to 30, which adds a half-minute delay. You can readily change it to 3 seconds, but no lesser. Close that tab, click "OK" and reboot for the changes to take place.
Note: The first time you restart, you'll probably have a window pop up saying you're in Selective Boot Mode. You can disable the window while preserving your changes.
