Difference between Windows 7 and windows 8

Windows 7 was released to production on July 2009. Minimum hardware requirements for Windows 7 32-bit are 1 GB Ram, 1 GHz x86 processor, 16 GB Hard Disk space Windows 8 is the latest Operating System developed by Microsoft Corporation launched on October 26, 2012. The hardware requirement is same as that of Windows 7.

The main differences between the two versions
of the Operating System are summarised below:
• Logging in to Windows 8 one can find out new start screen which is knows as "Metro" interface.

• In Windows 8 you can use apps and programs of course. These apps open in full screen and programs open on the desktop same as windows 7.

• Windows 8 has integrated app store from which one can download the apps

 • Windows 8 includes a new “Hybrid Boot” option that uses “advanced hibernation functionality” on shutdown to allow faster startup times.

• Another new feature is, the ability to create a Portable Workspace, an installation of Windows 8 on a USB storage device.

• For working on mail In Windows 7 you can used Windows 7 Live Mail. In windows 8 you have new mail apps.

• Windows 8 has built in Internet Explorer 10 which has more advance features, and it take advantage of hardware-acceleration for faster browsing and better performance.

• Best thing with Windows 8 is, it is optimized for touch screen devices. But it equally supports keyword/mouse based desktops, notebooks, netbooks etc., According to Microsoft, you choose the device, Windows 8 is going to run on it.

• Windows 8 has a very user friendly and modern Task Manager. It also has native ISO mounting feature and PDF file reader etc.

• Programs can still be pinned to the task bar like in windows 7 by right clicking your mouse on an icon in the taskbar and choosing Pin this program to task bar.
